Create Work Orders in MC Kinetic

Create work orders on the go in MC Kinetic to track your work, time, and material costs, helping your organization stay efficient and productive.

  1. Tap Create Work Order from one of the following menus:

  2. Enter the work order details.

  3. Optionally, add documents or photos.

  4. Tap Submit.

Work order details

Enter information to create and describe the work order, including general details, scheduling, asset association, and organizational attributes to track, prioritize, and manage the work effectively.

ClosedGeneral information

Enter basic details to identify the work order, link it to an asset, and define who is requesting the work.

  • Reason: A brief description to help identify the work order.

  • Assets: Select the asset related to the work order.

  • Problem: Select the issue to be addressed.

  • Assigned to you: Indicates whether the work order is currently assigned to you.

  • Requester: The app automatically fills this field with your name. Select a different requester if logging the request for someone else.

  • Requester email: The app automatically fills this field with the requester's email address.

  • Procedure: Select a predefined checklist to guide the work.

ClosedAdditional WO information

Enter more details to help prioritize and schedule the work. These fields help define the timing, scope, and classification of the work order.

  • Target date: The expected completion date. The app automatically fills this field with the current date.

  • Target hours: The estimated number of hours to complete the work.

  • Sub status: The current stage of the work.

  • Priority: The urgency of the request.

  • Type: Select the type of work, such as RE - Repairs, CO - Corrective, or PM - Preventive.

  • Category: Select the category that describes the work.

ClosedOrganization attributes

Use these fields to connect the work order to internal organizational structures such as repair centers, departments, and projects. These details help with reporting and accountability.

  • Repair center: The repair center responsible for the asset.

  • Shop: The shop associated with the asset.

  • Department: The department that owns or uses the asset.

  • Account: The account with which the work order is associated.

  • Customer: The customer linked to the asset. Use this if your organization maintains assets for multiple customers.

  • Shift: The shift to perform the work.

  • Supervisor: The person in charge of overseeing the work order.

  • Project: Select a project to group and track related work orders.

  • Zone: The zone where the asset is located. Use this if your organization manages assets by geographic zone, such as in a school district.

ClosedIndicators

Use indicators to flag special conditions or requirements for the work. These help ensure safety, compliance, and proper documentation.

Select the following indicators when:

  • Warranty: The associated asset is under warranty.

  • Shutdown required: The work order requires an asset to be shut down to perform the maintenance.

  • Lockout / Tagout: The work order requires a lockout procedure.

  • Attachments: The associated asset or procedure has documents attached to it.

  • Survey: A survey should be available to use when the work order is closed.

Add documents

Attach documents or videos to provide more context for the work order. These files can help document the issue, provide reference materials, or meet compliance requirements.

  • Choose video: Select a video from your device's gallery.

  • Choose file: Select a document from your device's storage.

Add photos

Include photos to visually document the asset, problem, or completed work.

  • Take photo: Use your device’s camera to capture a new image. You must allow access to your device's camera.
  • Choose from photo library: Select an image from your device's gallery.
